Solar Facts

* The sun will burn for approximately another 5 billion years. . . this is the approximate current age of our solar system. If you took ALL of the energy used by man and planet Earth, it only comes to 1/10,000th of the sun's energy hitting the earth. - NASA

* Thermal Hot Water contributes more renewable energy than ALL other forms combined, including wind, waves, PV (electric), geothermal, etc.

* "Three gallons of oil refined and burnt provides 40,000 BTU - once. Three gallons of oil, made into a four foot by 12 foot solar collector can provide 10 million BTUs per year . . . after year, after year." - Tom Lane, Home Power Magazine Pool Heating Article

* Domestic hot water is 30% of an average home's total energy bill

* Packback on an "average" system is 5 to 8 years and a $10,000 system can save you $150,000 over 25 years.

How do I get started and what do I have to know to use one of these systems?

You've already started! Use the information in this site and links to educate yourself, but don't worry, a properly installed system will last 25 years and requires less "know how" than a telephone to operate!

Do they "make" electricity?

No. But they take the biggest cut out of your energy "pie" in the most efficient and affordable manner known to man.

Could I install one of these systems myself?

For the vast majority of clients, no. It takes a multitude of tools, trades and knowledge to do a proper installation. We are trained by the companies who build them to ensure years of trouble free service, warranty and carry full liability insurance.
